Terms and conditions of sale
LAST UPDATED 20 SEPTEMBER 2026
These terms apply when you buy from the Aumax online shop or from our studio. They sit alongside our delivery policy and our returns and refunds policy, which form part of them. Ordering from us means you accept them.

2. Orders
Placing an order is an offer to buy. A contract comes into being when we confirm your order, which happens on the confirmation page and is repeated in the message we send you. Your order reference is on both.
We may decline or cancel an order if the item is out of stock, if the price or description was clearly wrong, if we cannot deliver to your address, or if we cannot verify the details you gave us. If we cancel an order you have already paid for, we refund you in full.
You may cancel before we begin production. Once an item has been engraved with your details we cannot cancel it, for the reasons set out in our returns policy.
3. Prices
Prices are in South African Rand and are what you pay. Personalisation add-ons are priced separately and shown before you add an item to your cart, and again at checkout.
Prices may change, but never after you have placed your order. If an item is listed at an obviously incorrect price, we will contact you before charging you and you may cancel.
4. Payment
We accept EFT, and cash or card on delivery in Gauteng. We do not store card details; payment on delivery is taken on the driver's card machine or in cash.
EFT orders are made and dispatched once the money reflects in our account. Unpaid EFT orders are cancelled after 7 days.
5. Personalisation
This is the part worth reading twice, because engraving cannot be undone.
- We engrave exactly what you submit. Spelling, spacing and capitalisation are copied as you typed them. Please check them before you order.
- Photos are adjusted for engraving. A laser works in light and dark, not colour, so we convert and contrast your image. A low resolution or very busy photo engraves poorly and we will tell you if we think yours will.
- You must have the right to use what you send us. By uploading an image or logo you confirm it is yours, or that you have permission to use it. We are not liable for a claim arising from artwork you supplied.
- We will refuse work that is hateful, obscene, threatening, or that infringes someone's trade mark or copyright. If we refuse after you have paid, we refund you in full.
6. Stock and availability
We hold limited stock of each design and a listing is not a guarantee of availability. If something sells out after you order it, we will contact you to offer an alternative, a wait, or a full refund. The choice is yours.
7. Delivery
Our delivery areas, times and costs are set out in the delivery policy. Delivery times are estimates given in good faith, not guarantees, and we will always tell you if something is running late.
Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery, or on collection from the studio.
8. Returns, refunds and warranty
Set out in full in our returns and refunds policy. In short: faulty or incorrect goods can be returned for 6 months and we carry the cost; personalised goods cannot be returned for a change of mind; and every item carries a one-year warranty from us on top of your statutory rights.
9. Your information
We collect your name, contact details, address and order details in order to make and deliver your order, and we keep uploaded images only as long as needed to produce and support your item. We handle personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act. See our privacy policy for the detail.
10. Our liability
We are responsible for delivering goods that match their description and are of good quality, and nothing here limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act or our liability for death, personal injury, fraud or gross negligence.
Beyond that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our liability for any order is limited to what you paid for it. We are not liable for delays caused by incorrect details you gave us, by load shedding, or by other events outside our reasonable control.
11. Complaints
Write to sakhile@aumax.co.za or message +27 87 724 8144. We respond within 5 business days. If we cannot resolve it between us, you may approach the National Consumer Commission.
12. General
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa. If any part of them is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. We may update these terms, and the version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it.
